Automated long goods handling
Automated long goods handling for saw lines, laser systems and industrial material flows
__Fehr handling systems automate transport and transfer processes between storage and processing plants. They integrate conveyor technology and machines into a high-performance material flow architecture and enable precise, repeatable processes with high plant availability.
Automated long goods handling for saw lines, laser systems and industrial material flows
Fehr’s long goods handling systems automate the removal of rods, supports, tubes and profiles from cassette warehouses, crane stores or AGV interfaces according to requirements. They provide the exact amount of material needed and deliver it directly to saws, lasers or other processing and production facilities.
The systems are designed for robust industrial processes and support different types of materials and lengths. They enable precise material feeding, integrate the management of residual pieces and can be integrated into existing storage and production systems.
By connecting to WMS, PPS or ERP systems, material movements are documented, inventories are updated and traceability is supported. The modular design allows both single applications and incrementally extensible automation solutions.

Gentle sheet metal and flat goods handling for warehouses, laser systems and industrial production processes
Fehr’s sheet metal and flat goods handling systems automate the precise separation, order picking and order compilation of sheet metal parcels and flat goods. They separate stacks in a controlled manner – even for materials that are demanding for conventional spreading magnets – and provide job-related units directly on pallets.
The systems are designed for different types of metals and material properties, including thin, oil-coated, stamped and coated steel and non-ferrous sheets. Special focus is placed on material-friendly handling for the protection of sensitive surfaces.
The solutions can be integrated into existing storage, production and IT structures (WMS, PPS, ERP) and can be implemented both as warehouse-integrated and as stand-alone systems. With the modular structure, they support different layouts and throughput requirements in the industrial environment.

Material-friendly profile handling for window construction, system construction and industrial production processes
Our profile handling systems are designed for the automated handling of profiles in system, window and metal construction. They enable the secure reception, positioning and transfer of profiles of different geometries and lengths – with particular attention to sensitive surfaces made of aluminum, plastic or coated materials.
Specialized gripping and transport systems ensure a material-conserving movement along all process steps, for example during the feed to processing stations, the order picking or the transfer into downstream production processes.
The solutions can be integrated into existing warehousing, conveyor or production environments and can be flexibly adapted to different profile types.

Automated handling system for supplying saws with long goods - for precise material provision, integrated residual piece management and stable production processes.
The Fehr handling system for automatic saw placement provides fully automated material supply for saws and processing systems for long goods. The system automatically removes rods, profiles or tubes from connected storage solutions – for example high-bay warehouses, crane warehouses or cassette systems – and transports them to the saw line. There, the materials are separated, positioned and transferred precisely to the saw.
An integrated single-rod measurement ensures that material lengths are precisely recorded and processed. At the same time, the system handles the automated handling of residual pieces: recoverable sections are measured, identified and returned to the warehouse or made available for subsequent orders.
The complete integration into storage and production systems (e.g. WMS, PPS or ERP) enables the entire material flow to be digitally controlled and traceable. The modular system can be flexibly adapted to different saw types, material dimensions and production layouts.

| Minimum scrap length | 500 mm |
| Max. rod length | 6,300 mm |

| Max. weight per meter (steel) | ~140 kg |
| Max. weight per meter (non-ferrous metal) | ~70 kg |

Automated handling system for material sorting behind saws - for order-only sorting, stable production processes and integrated material flow.
The Fehr handling system for material absorption behind saws automates the removal, sorting and structured deposit of sawn workpieces directly after the machining process. The solution can serve several saws or machining centers of different manufacturers simultaneously and takes over the assignment of the cut parts according to the order. Workpieces are automatically recorded, transported and stored on defined storage locations, pallets or in containers.
Depending on the process requirements, additional processing steps such as deburring, marking or labeling can be integrated. By connecting to storage and production systems (e.g. WMS, PPS or ERP), the material flow is digitally controlled and completely traceable.
The modular system can be flexibly integrated into existing production layouts and supports a stable, automated material flow between sawing line and downstream processes.
