Bestehendes fehr-Hochregallager erfolgreich mit Honeycomb ergänzt
Was sich bewährt hat, wird auch wiedergewählt: Seit 2009 hat Neher, der deutsche Marktführer für Insektenschutz, ein Hochregallager von fehr in Betrieb. Die Schweizer Meisterleistung hat den Kunden überzeugt: Für die bauliche Erweiterung des Stammsitzes in Frittlingen wurde das bestehende Hochregallager erfolgreich mit einem neuen „fehr honeycomb“ kombiniert. Dadurch erhöht sich die Lagerkapazität nahezu auf das Doppelte.
1973 begannen Arnold und Magda Neher im baden-württembergischen Frittlingen mit der Produktion von hochwertigen und maßgeschneiderten Lösungen im Bereich Fliegengitter und Insektenschutz. Heute ist die Firma Neher Marktführer in Deutschland, was Insektenschutz nach Maß anbelangt. Das breitgefächerte Sortiment für Fenster, Dachfenster, Türen, Lichtschächte und jedwede andere Einbausituation wird vor Ort hergestellt und exakt bis auf den Millimeter für die Kundschaft angefertigt. Die passgenaue Montage übernimmt das Fachhändlernetz von Neher, welches auf über 500 Partner in der gesamten Bundesrepublik zurückgreifen kann.
Auf die Zukunft vorbereitet sein
Um den steigenden Anforderungen und dem zunehmenden Wachstum viele weitere Jahre lang gerecht zu werden, hat sich die Neher Systems GmbH zur mit Abstand größten Investition der Firmengeschichte entschieden: Auf 11.000 Quadratmetern entsteht bis Ende 2022 ein modernes Logistikzentrum inklusive vollautomatischem Hochregallager von fehr. Der Neubau geht planmäßig vonstatten, auch wenn sich die Zeiten aktuell unruhig und schwierig gestalten. Anfang Oktober wurde die fertig installierte Anlage bereits betriebsfertig an den Kunden übergeben.

A honeycomb warehouse – inspired by nature
The name speaks for itself: The English word "honeycomb" describes honeycomb in a beehive. And this highly efficient storage system from Fehr is based on natural honeycombs. "honeycomb" is particularly suitable for large quantities of stored goods and offers a high access speed. The powerful concept works with removable cartridges and is easy to use. Like the bees, more storage logistics makes optimal use of the available space. This is what happened in the course of the logistics expansion at Neher in southern Germany.
Happy combination of old and new
Neher has been operating a high-bay warehouse since 2009, with whose use the company is very satisfied. Consequently, it was clear to Neher that the expansion of logistics should also be equipped with a plant from Fehr. Since the new logistics center is connected to the existing company building, an efficient connection of the existing high-bay warehouse with the "honeycomb" was desired. The challenge of the new system was primarily to ensure a quick cassette change between the two high-bay warehouses. This requirement was realized by means of a double table transverse sliding carriage DQG1 with gripper. In addition, the two orbits with weighing beams are arranged in such a way that they permit a logistically optimal goods starting situation. Two distribution cars equipped with the modern "Ergomove" drive system support ergonomic handling at the workstations.
Facts, figures and figures about "honeycomb"
The original 2,900 locations in the existing Fehr high-bay warehouse were increased by 2,714 units. The insect protection specialist now has almost 5,700 storage places available for its goods. A total of 2,692 cassettes with a width of 702 millimeters and a height of 560 millimeters were integrated. Their useful length amounts to 6,000 millimeters and the payload measures 2,000 kilograms. The dimensions of the overall system are as follows: the system height is at least 18.28 meters, the system width at least 19.98 meters and the system length at least 68.44 meters. The new shelf system for long goods with two blocks of 59 lanes and 23 levels is building-supporting and has the cassette management "Fehr KVS", which acts as a link between the warehouse management LVS and the machine control.

It was important to change the cassettes between the two high-bay warehouses quickly and to arrange the merchandise loading and removal stations as best possible for an optimum material flow.
