WMS Consultant (f/m/d)

We are looking for a consultant for our team in Winterthur who wants to implement exciting projects in a committed team. The ott Warehouse Management Systems GmbH is an international company specializing in the development of solutions for the control of automatic storage systems, handling systems and saws as well as the related components. The main focus is on the development and implementation of a warehouse management software (WMS) that is embedded in an IT infrastructure and acts as a headquarters around the warehouse and associated processes. As part of the Swiss Fehr Lagerlogistik AG group of companies and OttComputer GmbH of Germany, we develop holistic solutions under one roof, from sophisticated mechanical engineering to complex IT requirements. Your tasks

• Project Management: You assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and overseeing WMS projects. You set project schedules, monitor progress, coordinate resources, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. You identify potential risks and challenges in the course of the project and implement appropriate risk minimization measures.
• Consulting: You advise our customers on technical questions about our WMS system. You know all the features and latest developments from our WMS and share your expertise to help the customer choose the best solutions.
• Commissioning: You coordinate and direct the commissioning of the WMS in order to ensure a smooth operation. Until customer acceptance, you are the first point of contact for problems on site. Specification: You are responsible for the careful analysis of the requirements of our customers in the field of WMS. You work closely with customers to understand their business needs and implement them in our WMS.
• In-house support: In case of challenging problems, you are a contact for our support staff regarding our WMS.
• Training: Create training materials and deliver training to customers, remotely or at the customer’s site. After a project, you will continue to be available to the customers as a competent contact person for questions, problems or requests for changes in connection with the WMS.

Your profile

• You have experience in IT and a solid background in warehouse management systems, and experience in implementing such systems.
• You have sound knowledge of databases, web, IT interfaces, system design and system configuration.
• You are flexible and motivated to travel regularly, so that you can get involved with your hands-on mentality at the customer’s site.
• Ideally, you have a university degree or a completed vocational training course with several years of experience in a relevant area such as logistics, supply chain management, computer science or a related area.
• You have excellent knowledge of German (written and oral). Good knowledge of English is desirable. A knowledge of Spanish is not required, but it is an advantage.
• You bring a strong analytical mindset and can analyze complex business and system requirements in a structured way. You are able to identify complex problems and develop solutions for them independently.
• You have excellent oral and written communication skills and can explain complex technical concepts in a comprehensible way. You are able to communicate confidently with customers, internal teams and stakeholders even in difficult situations.
